Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has released the notification for the recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO – Generalist & Specialist) and Assistant Engineers (AE – Civil/Electrical). A total of 841 vacancies have been announced under this recruitment drive.
The online registration window will remain open from 16th August 2025 to 8th September 2025. The Preliminary Exam is scheduled for 3rd October 2025 followed by the Mains Exam on 8th November 2025 (tentative).

LIC AAO & AE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must satisfy both educational qualifications and age requirements as defined in the notification.
Educational Qualification
- AAO (Generalist): Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- AAO (Specialist): Degree + relevant professional qualification:
- CA: ICAI membership.
- CS: ICSI membership.
- Actuarial: Minimum 7 papers passed from Institute of Actuaries of India.
- Insurance Specialist: Postgraduate/Diploma in Insurance discipline.
- Legal: LL.B. with at least 3 years’ practice/experience.
- AE (Civil/Electrical): B.E./B.Tech in relevant branch with minimum 3 years’ work experience.
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025)
General age band is 21–30 years; for Legal & CA the upper age is 32 years.

LIC AAO & AE 2025 Selection Process
Selection is conducted in three stages. Prelims is qualifying; final merit is based on Mains + Interview.
- Preliminary Examination (Qualifying): Online objective test covering English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
- Main Examination (Scoring): Objective test (includes Professional Knowledge for Specialists) + Descriptive test (Essay & Letter).
- Interview: Candidates shortlisted from Mains will appear for interview; medical fitness required for appointment.
