Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2025 Notification

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for Agniveer Vayu Intake 02/2026 under the Agnipath Scheme. Eligible unmarried Indian male and female candidates can now apply online from 11 July to 31 July 2025. The online examination is scheduled to begin from 25 September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for passionate youth to serve the Indian Air Force for a 4-year tenure, gain hands-on military experience, and receive financial and professional benefits post-completion of the service.

Overview – Agniveer Vayu 02/2026

Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure you meet all the eligibility conditions related to age, marital status, education, and gender. These criteria are mandatory for appearing in the exam and joining the IAF as an Agniveervayu.

Educational Qualification

For Science Subjects:

• 10+2 with Maths, Physics & English with 50% overall and 50% in English, OR
• 3-year Diploma in Engineering with 50% marks, OR
• 2-year Vocational course with Physics & Math + English (50%).

For Other Than Science Subjects:

• 10+2 in any stream with 50% marks overall and in English, OR
• 2-year Vocational course with 50% in aggregate and English.

Candidates eligible for both may choose the combined exam option in a single session.

Age Limit

• Candidates must be born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive).
• Upper age limit on enrolment date is 21 years.

Marital & Gender Requirements

• Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
• Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of enrolment.

Domicile Criteria

Candidates must possess valid residence proof from their respective state or be children of serving/retired IAF personnel falling under COAFP categories.

• Domicile certificate from state/UT authority OR
• COAFP-I: Children of serving personnel
• COAFP-II: Children of ex-servicemen (residing in the state)

Physical Standards

Meeting the prescribed physical measurements is crucial to qualify for the next stages. The minimum height, chest, weight, and vision standards differ slightly for males and females.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

All candidates must clear PFT-I and PFT-II as part of Phase II. Physical endurance will be evaluated through timed runs and exercises.

PFT-I:

• 1.6 km run
  • Male: Within 7 minutes
  • Female: Within 8 minutes

Selection Process

The selection of candidates is conducted in three well-defined phases: Online Test, Physical & Adaptability Tests, and Medical Fitness Evaluation.

1. Online Test (Phase I)
2. PFT + Adaptability Test I & II (Phase II)
3. Medical Exam (Phase III)

Online Exam Pattern

The online test will assess your subject knowledge depending on your stream.

• 1 mark for correct answer
• -0.25 negative marking
• No marks for unattempted questions

Medical Exam Guidelines

All shortlisted candidates must undergo a detailed medical exam by IAF-authorized doctors. Fitness, visual acuity, and health history will be reviewed.

Note: Female candidates will also go through gynecological checkups and ultrasound tests.

Salary & Benefits

The Agniveervayu will receive a monthly package starting at Rs. 30,000 with yearly increments. The Seva Nidhi Package at exit will exceed Rs. 10 lakh. Life insurance of Rs. 48 lakh is also provided.

Career Growth & Opportunities

On completion of the 4-year service, up to 25% of Agniveers may be inducted into regular cadre based on merit and requirement. Additionally:

• Receive a Skill India Certificate
• Preference in future government & PSU recruitments
